Used Commercial Tanning Beds and What To Buy

used tanning bed

You can get used commercial tanning beds from dealers that can be found online (Google Search), on craigslist, and from commercial tanning bed manufacturers.

Commercial tanning bed manufacturers always have used tanning beds that they need to get rid of. They either get used beds from repossessions, or they allow tanning salon owners to trade in their old beds.

If you buy used commercial tanning beds from a manufacturer, I recommend getting a tanning bed that they built. I know, it sounds silly, but many commercial tanning bed manufacturers allow salon owners to trade in beds that they do not manufacture just to make a sale. And many of these used tanning beds are old.

Secondly, if you buy from a manufacturer, consider getting a warranty or service contract. Or make sure there is someone in your area that can work on your tanning bed. This is a big mistake that many tanning bed owners make. They buy a bed, but then can't find anyone that can work on it. Things go wrong.

This is a good reason to get high quality, well known brands like Tan America, Sun Ergoline, Dr. Mueller, and a few others.

One of the best places to find used commercial tanning beds for sale is Ebay. You can get some really good deals on high quality tanning beds, or tanning bed parts. For example...

In addition to the above advice on getting used tanning beds, here are a few more tips:

Make sure the acrylics are in good order. These are very expensive. There is nothing more irritating than getting a tanning bed with a damaged acrylic. They are $250-$500 each.

Make sure you get in writing that all the electrical is in good working order, and that the tanning bed is in excellent working order. If the bed arrives and the cover doesn't shut properly, or the ballast's are out, and you have nothing in writing to back you up. You are stuck with a tanning bed that won't work for a while.
