Some of my friends who used tinglers are feeling dizzy afterwards. They seem to be having some type of heat stroke. Has anyone else had this experience?
By the way, blood carries oxygen therefore tinglers do accelerate blood distribution to the surface.
My thought is that the dizziness may result from blood flowing to the upper dermal layers to increase melatonin. When more blood goes to the extremities, it most likely is depleting the brain. Thus the dizziness.
I would really like to know if anyone else is having these kinds of experiences before I apply a tingler.

RE: To tingle or not? by: Bird
If done correctly with care you will be fine. First of all, yes it will transfer to your child if you pick them up the first hour or so after use, have someone there who can care for baby until you are safe. I did that to my grandson when he was a baby, not knowing of course.
Also if you are new to tingle lotions make sure you have a good base tan first. never use it with light skin. Another really important thing, check to see what the tingle factor is, T2 is very mild, or if is says mild tingle factor, T10 or T12 is most common I think, there is T7 but I don't see those lotions much anymore. I have never gone any higher than T12,that I know of, I bought one that says intense tingle, it worked about the same as a 10 or 12 but set my hubby on fire and he took a shower to wash it off and it did absolutley no good. There are also some that say T70, I do not want to become a bomb fire so I have never even purchased any of them. Don't want to haved to call 911.
When I first used tingle lotions it made me feel as if I was having a heat stroke the first 2-3 times. Now I will use a tingle lotion one or two sessions then use something else, then a tingle lotion for another session and then again, something without. I find that helps me tan darker by switching different lotions. But you need to find what works best for you.
Hope I have answered your questions. Best of luck.

Tingle Lotions by: Christy
A few years ago I used my sister-in-laws tingle tanning lotion without knowing what it was. When I started to burn I immediately took a shower. I went out to the pool and held my daughter who was 2 at the time. It did burn her skin, made her very red, and scared us half to death, and this was after showering!. I do not recommend this type of product for those with small children who will want to be held when you return from your tanning session. I did hear that the blush lotions are less intense and may be a little safer if used by those with children. If you do decide on a tingle lotion, make sure it is never within the child's reach. They could mistake it for regular lotion and end up with extremely irritated skin!

commenting on tinfle or not? by: Anonymous
I have used lotions with the tingle for a while, the it does matter the number, for example, 7T or 12T, the higher the tingle factor the hotter it is and the more it does work, at least for most people. When I worked at a tanning salon some say it was a big difference for them but others said it felt hotter but didn't effect their tan much more than the more mild T-factor. Yes, it does have something to do with the blood, blood is what carries your melanen to the skin surface and that is what causes your skin to tan. So it does not make you bleed, it will encourage the tanning by causing the blood to produce more melanen closer to the surface.

I can only comment on what I was told from a manufacturer before purchasing lotions with tingle factor myself. I was told that the tingle factor brings your blood closer to the surface bringing melanin with it which is what causes tanning and some people it helps them tan darker and longer. I am not an expert, I am only saying what I understood the experts to say.
I guess do more research and see what you find. Just use caution with these kinds of lotions and good luck. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

BLOODD??? by: Amy
One common miss understanding of tingles...they ABSOLUTELY do NOTHING with your blood. they in no way shape or form bring the blood to the surface. Tingle is designed to increase oxidation..(Melanen)The only reason it makes you Hot is because it is designed to irritate your skin. Just because its a hot tingle does Not mean it will work better than a mild tingle.
Just wanted to clear the air on that one.

First you need to know that tingle factor lotions should only be used if you already have a good tan. If you do not you may feel as though you are having a sun stroke (or that is what it makes me feel like if the tingle factor is too high), start out at a low number, like T2 or T7.
YES, it will transfer from you to your child it does burn them a little, I accidently did that with my grandson when he was little.
The hot or tingle makes the blood come to the surface which somehow causes you to tan darker and gives you an instant color. You are correct, you should not tan for at least one hour after showering and you should not shower for at least two hours after tanning, six hours if you are using a lotion with bronzers in it. Reason being your skin still tans for up to two hours and some bronzers take five to six hours for the color to set in well.

what about body blush? by: Anonymous
Tingle opens up your pours to allow increased oxidation. basically makes melanon darker Wayy quicker. Buuttt they are hot and make you feel like you are burning.
I would recommend a Body Blush to you..basically it will give you the same results with out irritating your skin. And you are absolutely right you shouldent hold your baby for atleast and hour after tanning with a tingle. But if you were to use a Body Blush it wont hurt your child at all.
