Is A Tanning Towel Right For You?

Tanning towels provide a quick and easy way to get that bronzed look you always wanted. The indoor tanning industry gained popularity in the 1970s and became firmly entrenched in the beauty conscious mind by the 1980s. tanning towel

From the time Coco Chanel inadvertently introduced the concept of tanning, to the present times, when researchers work overtime to produce more and more effective tanning products, the tanning industry has created a brown furor.

Tanning towels or tan towels have become another alternative to indoor tanning...sunless tanning, that is. They can be carried in handbags and suitcases and unlike tanning lotions, do not create a mess. Tanning lotions need to be spread evenly, smeared all over the body. But with a tanning towel, all you need to do is wrap yourself snugly in it, and hey presto! The tan begins to appear. No staining of clothes and no waiting for long minutes or hours for the lotion to dry on your body.

You can buy the TanTowel in many stores and retail locations, but you can get it for just $24 and FREE Shippping at the SkinStore, one of our favorite skin care products store.

How do you use a tan towel? Start with the folded towel and work your feet up. Unfold the towel a little at a time till you have covered the entire body. This ensures that the towel stays moist; otherwise you would have wasted it. You may need two or three towels to cover the entire body because one tan towel covers about 1/3 of the body.

This would however depend on your size, height, and skin
porosity. A tan towel dries quickly, in about 20 minutes, and the color develops in a couple of hours. Oops! Have you missed some spots? All you need to do is a little touch up for those spots. Once you have finished using your tan towel, simply throw it away and rinse your hands. Most or all tan towels exfoliate as you use them, so you do not need to exfoliate the skin separately. The effect fades naturally in about a week.

Tan towels are also available as wipes or towelettes. These can be used to simply wipe your entire body, but you would need to reapply them after a few days.

Tanning towels cost between $20 and $200. Tan towel is a brand name as well as a generic name in the beauty products industry. As a brand name, tan towels are the original self-tanning towels. Any tanning towel that is available in the market today will be therefore licensed through Tantowel.

Tan towels are perfect for home use. You do not need to visit your salon every time you want to flaunt your darker side. Simply wrap them or rub them on yourself, and you've got the look! Tan towels last for a year if the packaging is not tampered with. However, using tan towels does not negate the use of moisturizers or sunscreen lotions. You would require continuing with your beauty regime the usual way. But you would have bronzed yourself away from the harmful effects of UV rays and harsh tanning lights.

If you are really interested in the tanning towel, you may want to try a spray on tan and compare...
