Which Indoor Tanning Accessories Are For You?

A guide to indoor tanning accessories: Indoor tanning is becoming more and more
accepted by skincare experts and professionals. Why? Because, exposing your skin to UV helps your body naturally produce vitamin D, which has many benefits.

In our opinion, indoor tanning is better than outdoor tanning, because you are getting a prescribed dose of UV, and if you are going to a good tanning salon, the tanning assistants should be able to educate and consult you on how much you should be tanning so you can either maximize your tanning results, or get an adequate amount of UV for a healthier lifestyle.

A good tanning salon should also help you choose the tanning accessories that are right for you.

As indoor tanning has become more accepted, and as the industry grows, new products to help you achieve and maintain a nice bronze tan and protect certain parts of your body from UV exposure, which many have harmful effects, like your hair and fingernails, are being produced.

Indoor tanning accessories for you to consider for your next indoor tanning session:

Side Note: The indoor tanning accessories below are not for everyone. But you may find several that will help you have a better indoor tanning experience. The main tanning accessory that is not listed here is indoor tanning lotion...but it goes without saying, right?

So if you have had your hair down, you do not want to expose your hair to excessive amounts of UV, or at least limit the amount of UV. Your hair receives, because it affects hair coloring. The newest and coolest solar cap is a Tannie.

solar maskSolar Mask: A solar mask blocks approximately 96% of the UV from hitting your face. It also reduces sweat and keeps you cooler while tanning. Some people do not want wrinkles sooner than later, and UV can accelerate the wrinkle process over time. A solar cap also keeps your face from burning, and helps you avoid raccoon eyes. Side note: towels don't block UV rays. They slightly filter them. If you are using a towel on your face you are not protecting it from UV. Consider using a solar mask instead.

Sunspot Treatment: A newer product in the tanning industry, sunspot treatment is a way to get those sunspots to disappear. But does it really work? You be the judge. We haven't tried it yet.

Side Note: These first three tanning accessories are also for men, but they rarely use them…it seems that they are a 'girly thing'.

Also, if you have acrylic nails, UV will fade the color of your acrylics, and it also may affect the adhesive.

Solar Bra: Protects your breast area, contours to nipple area. Lasts a long time, and is good for spray tanning as well.

Indoor Tanning Accessories For Men and Women:

Manly UV Bonnet: Protects the private area during your tanning session. Does UV effect important area? Is it worth it to even wonder? Just protect it! The newest product in the category is called a Man Hood.

Teeth Whitener: Why not whiten your teeth while you tan? White teeth make you appear a bit thinner, and healthier too!

indoor tanning gogglesPeepers: Peepers are in the category of tanning booth accessories, and are basically small eye goggles that keep the UV from hitting your eyes. Over time, exposure to UV may damage your cornea, and you may need surgery. UV exposure on a consistent basis without eye protection can severely damage your cornea.

After Tan Wipes: After Tan wipes, otherwise known as Fresh-Ease, are used to wipe your self down and give yourself a pleasant odor, versus the common odor. Your body releases as a result of melanin production during any tanning session.

Stickers: Stickers are another tanning booth accessory that you put on your body before you tan. They have been around for many years in the tanning industry. You simply put these on your body before each tanning session, and afterward, you will see the sticker impression on your body. For example, you can get a butterfly, and stick it on your arm. And after your tanning session, take the sticker off and you will have a butterfly impression.

Beach Sandals and Flip-flops: flip flops are great because, you can literally take your clothes on and off without having to touch the floor with your bare feet. You'll find this helpful especially if the floors are cold, and more importantly, you will not get any fungus as a result of anyone tanning prior to you.
