New Review: Sunset Tan Reality Show

Sunset Tan reality show is an E Entertainment program which takes place in LA.

Studio City is probably it's main tanning salon. Their new reality tv show, which first aired Memorial day 2007, is a six-part series where you get an inside look at what is described by the hype as, 'L.A.'s most successful upscale tanning salon'.

We watched the first Sunset Tan reality show, and coming from a tanning salon professional, it's a bit embarrassing. If you are interested in entertainment by beautiful Bay Watch style babes, and leather skinned 'boy band' looking guys, then the Sunset Tan reality show is for you.

It is defiantly not typical of what you would expect a normal tanning salon to be like. So you have to take step back and understand that it is really just a tv show, and much of the antics and drama is just that...pre staged so they can get their ratings up. Because that's all the tv producers want...ratings. No ratings, and the Sunset Tan reality is gone.

That's the embarrassing bit. This show is going to either scare people away from tanning salons, or bring them in expecting dingy girls and drama to be a norm. I can assure you it's not. As a tanning salon professional, you can't run a salon with ridiculous antics, drama, and unprofessionalism. People are drawn to businesses because they have a good experience and it's priced right. Tanning salons are no different.

I believe that the only way Sunset Tan will stay on the air is if they can ramp up the drama. Otherwise, their are gone. If you want to compare it to a successful reality tv program, look at Blowout on Bravo. This show had it all...drama, and a pro business owner with style. I do not see this with Sunset Tan Studio City. There is only the girls, boring business owners, a front desk, and girls bickering...so far. Maybe it'll get better...maybe not. But it's pretty bad.
