Advice On Home Tanning Beds...

Why people are buying home tanning beds... Tanning is very popular in today's society,
despite recent fears of skin cancer. Our beauty image focuses heavily on skin color, and it is generally agreed that fair-skinned people should have a healthy bronze tan to maximize their glamour and attractiveness.

More and more people are turning to tanning salons to maintain their tans, because sun tanning takes time, which is all too often time not available! Tanning beds that provide a concentrated burst of UV radiation can jump start melanin production, which in turn provides for darkened skin.

Tanning salons should be staffed by trained professionals and offer tremendous service, but this service comes at a price. Therefore, many people who are committed to tanning year round have chosen home tanning beds, which in the long-run can save money and provide maximum tanning convenience. With a tanning bed at home, you choose when you want to tan. This is especially advantageous for people who work long hours and who may not be able to make it to a tanning salon during their workdays.

With a tanning bed in your home, you can have a tanning session in the middle of the night or right before you leave for work if you so choose. Additionally, you will save money since most tanning salons charge by the minute, or have a set fee per session. Because it takes a few sessions to establish your base tan, and then many more sessions to maintain it, you could find yourself spending more than $100 a month just on your tan.

It would not take many months at this rate to equal the cost of a tanning bed, and after your savings pay off the bed you can use it virtually free any time you like.

"But wait a minute," you might say, "Don't tanning beds take up a lot of space?" While this is true of many commercial tanning beds, there are home tanning beds available that can be turned to stand straight up, and then be rolled into a closet.

Still other tanning beds are actually tanning canopies that are suspended on hydraulic arms over your own deck chair, couch, or bed. These fixtures are lighter, slimmer, and much easier to move than commercial tanning beds.

Storing your tanning bed in your home can be as easy as rolling it off into a corner, or you can leave it set up in a spare bedroom or family room.

Home tanning beds also offer the advantage of
peace of mind. Many people worry about the cleanliness of tanning salons so by having your own tanning bed, you know precisely who used it last, which eliminates the worry about picking up an illness or infection.

People who are body-conscious or shy will also appreciate the anonymity of being able to tan in their own home without fear of being seen by others. With all the advantages, many people are investing in home tanning so they can enjoy the great economy and peace of mind while achieving an incredible tan!

Here's the other side of the argument...

Disadvantages of at home tanning beds: You may not be able to afford a good quality tanning bed and therefore you won't get the results you are looking for. Tanning salons have level 1 to level 3 beds. Each level achieves better results from the next.

You won't have a trained professional making recommendations on lotions, time spent in each bed, etc. and therefore a home tanning bed may only get you to a light brown or bronze, where as a tanning salon can help you get to where you want to be in a safe and controlled environment (assuming they are trained).
